What is ShowMemory?
ShowMemory is an Online Crowdsourced Content Aggregator Platform dedicated to Live Entertainment and Performing Arts. ShowMemory is not a social network, neither it is a market place or a talent agency. It offers equal opportunities for all fans and professionals of the industry to find content and to generate content.
What is Live Entertainment?
Live Entertainment is a large segment of the Media and Entertainment Industry. “Live entertainment” means any activity provided for pleasure, enjoyment, recreation, relaxation, diversion or other similar purpose by a person or a group of persons who are physically present when providing that activity to a patron or group of patrons who are physically present.
What is Performing Arts?
Performing arts are basically arts or skills that require a performance in front of a public audience. Examples are acting, singing and dancing. Other forms of the Performing Arts include opera, theatre, circus, variety, magic or illusion performances, mime, spoken word, recitation and public speaking.
What is the source of data and content on ShowMemory?
The data and content on ShowMemory are the result of direct contributions – uploads and edits – from all the users of the platform. We also publish content that is licenced to us by various production companies, or the content available as open source, for example, Wikidata.
Who can create or edit data and content on ShowMemory?
Any user who has an active account can create or edit data and content in compliance with the Tearms&Conditions, User Policy and Content Policy of the platform. It is possible to edit the content created by other users, if it is incomplete or inaccurate. This approach to data collection is very similar to Wikipedia.
Am I required to have an account of ShowMemory?
No, a user account is not required to browse the content of ShowMemory and discover information. However, an active account is required to create or edit content of ShowMemory and to use certain interactive features such as personalized Favourites folders or to give “Applause” to Shows and Events to determine their ShowMemory Score.
What kind of content can be created on ShowMemory?
There are five main sections on ShowMemory: Shows, Events, Personalities, Collectives and Venues. Each of these sections has a specific set of fields and content. Some examples of content include: factual data, links to existing videos, images, and other links to external resources and reviews. Users can leave comments for Shows and Events. The Connected Data approach of ShowMemory also allows to create links between the shows or events and personalities or collectives, creating “Professional Credits”. It is also possible to add Venues to shows and Events to locate them on
